Shruti Mandal 2016- Carrying Forward The Timeless Legacy

Art and culture is in the blood of the Surana family and they are avid patrons of them since the time of Late Rajmalji Surana. He was a connoisseur of music and an admirer of the Radio Sangeet Sammelans that aired on All India Radio. Moreover, a family occasion in the Surana family was never complete without the inclusion of music

The Origin of Shruti Mandal

Keeping in mind the illustrious legacy, the Surana family along with founder secretary Kaushal Bhargava, founded Shruti Mandal in 1964. At that time, the intention was to promote classical dance and music in Jaipur. However, under the strong leadership of Prakash Chand Surana and his equally able son Chandra Surana, the organization has carried forward its musical legacy. The annual concert titled Surana Smriti Samaraho  takes place from 4th to 6th January every year and commemorates the death anniversary of Rajmalji Surana.

Treasures Of Jaipur: Exhibition Of Priceless Jewellery Held

Creativity is the Essence in the art of jewellery making believes Bhuramal Rajmal Surana (Johuree) who is among the best known jewelers in India. According to Chandra Surana fashion trends is a very fickle term – changing clothes everyday is an affordable idea, but it is not so with jewellery, so he advises that it is important that customers make correct investment choices.” “I dislike using the word ‘Trends’ which implies following a collective and fleeting obsession. A jeweller should constantly strive to create pieces that are distinctive and timeless at their core, keeping their originality intact.” said Mr. Chandra Surana while speaking to media on the occasion of the recent exhibition held in their showroom titled Treasures of Jaipur. The event was well received by the Kolkata jewellery connoisseurs and received a great deal of acclaim.
